Introduction

Did you know that nearly 25% of all Americans experience pain on a daily basis? Pain does not discriminate; there are numerous conditions that can cause symptoms that limit your movement and diminish your quality of life, from arthritis to peripheral neuropathy to TMJ.

Pain varies according to your diagnosis, and each person may experience pain differently. That’s why the experts at SoBe Apothecary extensively study the unique characteristics of pain for each condition and the effects that different medication ingredients have on pain symptoms.

Based on this research, our highly skilled pharmacists develop customized topical creams that are formulated to specifically target the different types of pain and inflammation at their source. Unlike traditional pharmaceuticals, every SoBe Apothecary prescription is formulated for you and your specific need.

Proven, Lasting Pain Relief

Many Americans with chronic pain have tried multiple methods for pain relief to no avail and have given up hope for lasting relief. Others refuse to take pain medications for fear of unbearable side effects or becoming addicted. SoBe Apothecary can change these perceptions.

There are many benefits of a solution from SoBe Apothecary. Our formulations have proven successful in cases where no other pain reliever has helped. In addition, our topical creams are non-addictive and produce few, if any, side effects. All ingredients in our formulations areFDA approved and decrease the risk of adverse drug interactions.

How to Get a Custom-Compounded Medication from SoBe Apothecary

  • All customized medications from SoBe Apothecary require a prescription from your doctor.

Depending on your plan, your prescription may or may not be covered. We will also discuss allergies and any other information pertinent to filling your order.
  • If the prescription is covered, we will let you know whether you have a co-payment and if so, how much it will be.
  • If the prescription is not covered, we will let you know what your out-of-pocket cost will be. Our goal is to help you obtain long-term pain relief, and we will work with you to ensure an affordable solution.
  • Once you authorize us to proceed, our pharmacists will formulate your medication and ship it to you free-of-charge. Shipments usually take 2 to 3 days to arrive.

Conditions

Pain can decrease your quality of life. Many people suffer with pain needlessly, mistakenly believing it is just a part of aging or that nothing can be done to help them. Pain can result from damage to nerves, muscles, tendons, ligaments and joints. It can result from surgery, inflammation, autoimmune disorders, or any number of conditions, including:

  • Musculoskeletal Pain
  • Neuropathic Pain
  • Inflammation
  • Upper/Lower Back Pain
  • Cervical and Lumbar Radiculopathy
  • Rheumatoid Arthritis
  • Osteoarthritis
  • Trigeminal Neuralgia
  • Failed Back Syndrome
  • Phantom Limb Pain
  • Post-Surgical Pain
  • Diabetic-Related Pain
  • Peripheral Neuropathy
  • Sports-Related Pain
  • Tendonitis
  • Tendinosis
  • Scarring
  • Epicondylitis
  • Plantar Fasciitis
  • Fibromyalgia
  • Reflex sympathetic dystrophy (RSD) / Complex Regional Pain Syndrome (CRPS)
  • Temporomandibular Joint (TMJ)
  • Spasms

When it comes to pain, we do not subscribe to a “one size fits all” mentality. At SoBe Apothecary, our compounding pharmacists realize that pain can vary with each condition, and they thoroughly research each condition and its associated pain syndrome to develop a customized formulation.

If your daily life is interrupted by pain related to any of these conditions, ask your doctor about SoBe Apothecary Compounding Pharmacy and get the relief you so desperately deserve. To learn more about our custom-compounded topical creams, call us today at 866-570-1375.

Treatments

The pharmacists at SoBe Apothecary use a number of medications within various classes of drugs to create an effective pain relief treatment for almost any condition that causes musculoskeletal or neuropathic pain.

The types of medications that may be combined to develop a topical pain relief cream include non-steroidal anti-inflammatories, local anesthetics, muscle relaxants, tricyclic anti-depressants, calcium channel blockers and others that have proven successful in relieving neuropathic pain.

Topical creams offer direct delivery to the source of pain while limiting absorption into the blood stream. Studies also show that creams can effectively be rubbed into the area of the spine that corresponds to the location of pain. For example, if you are experiencing pain down the outside of your leg, the pain is most likely coming from nerve damage involving the fifth lumbar vertebra (L5). Rubbing a SoBe Apothecary cream into the skin where the L5 vertebra is located (lower back) can decrease your leg pain.

Ask your doctor for a prescription for a custom compounded topical pain cream today. Contact SoBe Apothecary at 866-570-1375 to help you get the pain relief you deserve.

Benefits Of Using A Compounded Medication

Before the mass production of pharmaceuticals, pharmacists prepared medications from scratch through a process called compounding. With a mortar and pestle, they would mix ingredients by hand and create a customized medication to meet each patient’s unique needs.

One Patient's Experience with Compounding

"For more than 10 years, I’ve experienced joint and muscle pain. My pain is so severe that I couldn’t stand living without effective analgesic treatment because almost all physical activity would be impossible.

I found compounded preparations to be very effective in controlling my pain level and safer than prescription drugs available from a retail pharmacy because compounds can be customized.

My pain management physician has prescribed many commercially available analgesics for me, but all of those products have one significant drawback or another, such as producing side effects like constipation or drowsiness, and they are not as effective as the compounds I now use. For example, every manufactured form of oral hydrocodone contains other ingredients, such as acetaminophen, that would be harmful in the daily intake required to manage my severe pain.

My customized medication allows me to be more comfortable day to day, and on a pain scale of 1 to 10, they reduce my pain level from a definite 10 to about a 5. My current pain regimen, which includes compounded preparations, enables me to enjoy activities that are both pleasurable and possible, such as bicycling, and to live a normal life without the limits that severe pain imposes
 ." -- C.S.

SoBe Apothecary is proud to offer this same centuries-old service today, albeit with high tech, electronic equipment to do the mixing and preparation for us. With your doctor’s approval, our certified compounding pharmacists can create a topical medication specifically for your pain.

Why is a formulation from SoBe Apothecary better than a traditional pharmaceutical medication? The topical application of a custom compounded cream has many advantages, including:

  • Delivers relief directly to the source of pain
  • Minimizes absorption into the blood stream
  • Decreases inflammation
  • Quickly provides measurable and identifiable pain relief
  • Greater effectiveness and results
  • Produces fewer side effects
  • Reduces the possibility of adverse drug interactions
  • Formulations are non-addictive
  • Minimizes oxidative stress
  • Reduces organ toxicity

In addition, all medicinal ingredients in our custom formulations are FDA approved. Prescriptions are covered by most commercial insurance plans, and we have a dedicated customer service team available to assist you.

Other Benefits of Compounded Medications

  • We maintain an ongoing relationship with you and your doctor. Based on feedback from you, your doctor may instruct us to adjust your formulation to increase its effectiveness. Through continuous communication, we can fine-tune your prescription until you are getting the desired results.
  • Some people are allergic to certain inactive ingredients in a medication, such as a preservative or dye. With our specially prepared creams, we can eliminate allergic ingredients.
  • For those who have difficulty swallowing pills, capsules or tablets, the topical application of a cream increases the likelihood patients will comply with treatment.
  • If you have a hard-to-treat condition that doesn’t respond to off-the-shelf prescriptions, or the strength of the medicine you need is not commercially available, we can customize a formulation just for you.

If you have pain that hasn’t responded to traditional pharmaceuticals or unique health care needs, compounding may be the only satisfactory solution. Call SoBe Apothecary at 866-570-1375 to get the relief you deserve.
